Hi folks,

Here we come, day 5, thursday, karaoke's day!!!. There are lots of nice pictures from the karaoke, so it was very difficult to choose the best ones.

Anyway, our day started as usual, going to their classroom and doing some learning and some games at the same time.

At 12:00, it was time for the snack.

After our first snack, it was time for our project. Today was a hard day in our project, because there were some people who didn't study what they were supposed to know. But they will do it very good, I'm sure.

At lunch, we had a bit of fish with chips and soup. After lunch, it was another time for classroom to learn and to play. They have learnt to do an Spiral. They had to write what is more important in the centre of the spiral, and all the other things we like at the end, in the bigger part.

After the second snack, we paid a visit to the Renewable Energies resource that they have in here. They produce biomass and solar energy to heat the water, and central heating.

Later, it was a time to prepare their presentations, so they did it with an animal alphabet, saying different animals according to a letter of the alphabet.

Finally, the "star" activity of the week, the best one, the most attractive one for the children, it was the KARAOKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. We have very good singers, and people who knows how to spend a fortnight having a good time (as the BEP song "the time of my life") like Hugo, Tobías, Sergio, Carlos, Brais Fe., Alfonso, Mario, Nahuel, Miguel, Adri, Patri, Thalía, Sheila and Romina. All of them sang one song (On the floor, I can't live, Karma Chameleon, Tik Tok, We are the champions....)

But our best star, the most valuable student and person of this day, the only one who could join all the people to cheer him up and to motivate him...well, he was......yes.....our dear and appreciated..... A D R I Á N!!!!!!!!! He was the best dancer, our own Billy Elliot, he was having such a good time dancing that it was a pleasure to enjoy this night with him. Definitely, he has to go to a dancing academy, he's got rhythm in all his body!!!

That's all for today, tomorrow it will be our last, nervous, sad day. Have a good night and probably I will publish Friday at home, with my family.

Dehesa de Solanillos day 4

Hi folks,

This is Wednesday, half week, half way. This was a walking day. They walked in two turns: Halifax and Ottawa first; Vancouver and Toronto later in the afternoon.

As the morning was really foggy, we didn't know to walk or not, but finally we decided to do it.Chisco went with Halifax and Ottawa, meanwhile I walked with Vancouver and Toronto later. Here we have a piece of a diary they have to do in the classroom.

The first group departed at 10:00 in the morning and they went to take a look at the landscape where there was a sight-seeing tour. They enjoyed, but they came a bit tired. We think they're not totally used to walk.

After that, we continued with our school project. The theatre play goes very good, and so the different team works (but the Earth....).

We had lunch after that (lentils and spaghetti with salad). After lunch the second group went walking towards the wind-mills. It was a good idea, because now we have some pictures for our school project (Renewable energies).

They came a bit tired, but a surprise was waiting for them at the snack: Today's Marian's birthday, so we prepared a little cake with candles and some sweets. They all enjoyed that, specially Marián.

After that, they worked on the presentations and they did the presentations very well. Well done!!!

After the presentations, we did a little quizz, created by Benjamín (the camp director), congrats Ben, it was a great idea to practice all they've learnt.

Finally, before going to bed: Time for Cinema!!! Ice Age!!! They all laughed a lot!!!

Time to sleep and we expect some more special activities for tomorrow, specially the......KARAOKEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Dehesa de Solanillos day 3

Hi folks,

Once more we are here to tell you what we did yesterday, Tuesday 29th in Mazarete.

Well, our second day was a great day. It was a day dedicated to the Earth and all the natural landscapes we can find on it, like mountains, volcanos, valleys, ponds, canyons, plains, forests, etc.....

As usual, they had snack at 12:00 and we work on our project at 12:30 until 14:00!!

After breakfast (cola-cao with cookies), they went to their classrooms to work on today's topic. They also had some games to introduce the topic and to enjoy their English. We have some pictures of these moments in the classroom.

Then, they had lunch, beans + steaks + chips. Incredibly, they liked the beans!!!

After lunch, they went to their lessons, well, not exactly lessons: part information, part games. They also work on today's presentation after 17:30 (when they had another snack).

19:30: Presentation time, even better than yesterday. These are the name of the groups: Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa and Halifax. They are all Canadian cities.

At 20:00 they could have a shower and talk with their parents. Everything was quite right, but Thalía and Fon who missed a bit their parents when they spoke with them; and also Adri, who it seems he didn't phone (we do not know exactly why, but anyway, he's Adri, you know).

After dinner (lasagna and vegetable cream), they enjoyed a game with a whistle. No, not the Secondary game (remember Giovanni?), a different game. Sat in a circle with one standing in the middle with the eyes closed, they had to turn around the circle and come into the middle without any noise at all. Once in the middle they had to whistle.

After this game, they learnt a couple of new songs. At the moment, they already know 5 different ones: Bananas, Everywhere we go, Pizza Hut (or Elephants), Beaver song and Baby shark song.

Finally they went to bed at 23:00. Yesterday they were not so exhausted and it took some time to put them to sleep. Anyway, they are fantastic and their behaviour is absolutely fine.

Hi folks,

it's Monday, a normal hard day for workers and for students, but not here. It was a fantastic day for our dear students.

After that, at 9:15 they were divided into 4 groups, according to their level of English, no
surprises for me except Brais Fig. and Noe Cea (I thought they could be in a better group). Anyway, they will get more confidence because they do the same activities.

They had breakfast at 8:30, some milk with cola-cao and cereals, orange juice and a little cake.

So, group 1: Hugo, Sergio, Alberto, Mencía, Marián, Mario and Patricia.

Group 2: Noe, Noelia, Tobías, Carlos, Brais Fdez, Laura and Romina.

Group 3: Brais Fig., Isaura, Iria, Fon, Dani.

Group 4: Adrián, Nahuel, Yunai, Miguel, Sheila and Thalía.

Then, they went to their classroom to start with today's topic: WATER!!!

At 12:00, they had a snack to be ready for our own school project: we're going to show what they did and we'll do a little play about water cycle!!!

At 14:00, they had lunch: meatballs, green beans and chips, with a fruit. We missed Antonio, our dear boss; and we also missed Celso, Tere, Carmen, and of course, Kasey.

From 14:30 to 15:30, they had some free time before coming back to their classrooms (well, not exactly because they tie-dyeing T-shirts, and they played a lot of games during this time).

At 17:30, they had another free hour to play football. We have to say that we won our first game versus Santander: 4 - 3. But as usual, there were some problems playing football.

At 18:30, they started to prepare a presentation about today's topic and they did the presentation at 19:30.

At 20:00, it was Shower Time!!! Tomorrow, I mean today, at this time, they can call the parents. I have to say that Parents are being very respectful and patient. Thank you, Parents.

Finally, after dinner, the best part of the week, a night's game. Today, they had to look for 25 objects around all the place, they had to take a picture of every object and show it to the monitors. The first one in doing it, it's the winner (but in fact, there were no winners, because it is not important).

They went to bed at 23:00, but they started sleeping.....almost inmediately, they were exhausted. Trust me, not any single noise during the whole night.

Dehesa de Solanillos day 1

Hi folks

Sooooooooo here we are again, hanging around in this puddle!!! What a long long journey to Mazareta, concretely to Dehesa de Solanillos, a rural house (http://www.erural.com/dehesa-de-solanillos/). 11 hours.

First of all, I would like to say that I'm very sad because Paula, Albita and Dawnie are not here with us: YOU HAVE TO BE BRAVE FOR NEXT TIME!!! This is a wonderful experience and probably you'll feel strange when your school mates come back to school. Anyway, I am very very happy because all the others are here enjoying, learning and having fun.

Let's start!!! First the depart, as Paula was not there, we waited for Yunai who came inmediately (well, 40 min. waiting for him).

After that, we did 3 stops: A Gudiña (for a snack); Medina del Campo (to have lunch) and Alcalá de Henares (for another snack).

We arrived at 20:15. They were really tired but they went into their bedrooms and they did an English test to show their English level.

After that, they had dinner, a yummy rice with fried eggs.

Finally they played a bit to get to know each other. A couple of games with a ball and a well-known song (for those who went to BSC'10) "Peel bananas, peel peel bananas; slice bananas slice slice bananas; smash bananas smash smash bananas; eat bananas eat eat bananas; go bananas go go bananas and another banana to the world"

Then they went to bed and had a nice "sleep"? (ejem.....) ;-)

Mohernando day 6

Hi folks,

It's Friday!! A sad day for our dear students. Yesterday night they cried a lot, they felt they had to go back home....So sad!!! Anyway, this is going to be a great day, because we're going to the old Spanish capital: Alcalá de Henares!!!

We went to Cervantes house, to the university, to the cathedral and to Mayor Street (as Revolver sang it "Calle Mayor").

In the evening we played a fantastic "fight for kisses" game!!! I'm sorry Sara, but I do not have pictures of that great moment between you and Carlos. Anyway, it's published in Anglo-orbe blog!!!

At night....what a party!!!! I do not have any picture recorded but I have your dedicatories!!!!

Well, that's all for Secondary Linguistic Inmersion, from now on I will publish all material about Primary Linguistic Inmersion. Unfortunately, I do not have any picture of Saturday 15th October. I only want to tell that it was a long way back home, but I was disappointed with some people about their behaviour. Anyway, they had good fun, they had learnt and that's what matters.

Mohernando day 5

Hi folks,

Sooo here we are.....One month later, before coming back to Guadalajara with years 5 and 6, I could get a bit of time and recover some of the lost pictures to publish this new post. We started learning a new song that become our Hymn:

After that they spend some time taking rubbish out from the ground before they went to their lessons.

Later they paid a visit to a farm, where we can see Héctor taking good care of a goat or Enrique's trousers feeding another goat.

In the evening, before going into our project we knew that Michael was not Michael, he was Miguel and what was more astonishing: HE IS FROM CAMOS!!!! He had to come back due to a medical appointment.

At night, it was a complete laughing night, because they had prepared some jokes to the students. Some of the games were known by the people who attend drama lessons but we enjoyed a lot in the same way!!!!

Thanks to all Santi's team. They're fantastic and they're making an unforgettable experience for our students!!!

Mohernando day 4

Hi folks,

Probably today you were sat at the sofa, watching television, enjoying with your families or going to the park or the cinema. Instead we were working really hard from the very first moment of the day.

After breakfast, we sang a couple of songs thanks to Aoife's guitar and another one thanks to

Brais. He was brilliant!!!!

Then, we didn't go to the classrooms because it was so so hot, that it was a perfect day to stay outside and make some games making English sentences and learning about Renewable Energies, the topic of the day.

They also did an experiment about producing pure water by solar evaporation!!.

During the morning they always have a break and another one after lunch. It is so amazing to see how our students are really participating and integrating with the students from Córdoba. They are good friends and maybe more than friends....

Anyway, today's show was about a new land with renewable energies, and the winner was the Hungry Lions. Here they are....

After that they worked in our project, that we decided to be a Theatre Play about Energies. We will see how it works. They are totally fantastic!!!! We are sure that it's going to be great!!!

Finally, they played to another game: "capture the flag". Unfortunately we don't have pictures because it was late and dark at night, and they have something to live rather than to see.

Tomorrow we're going to the farm!!! They will be with the animals!!!! Brilliant!!!

Mohernando day 3

Hi folks,

One day more, and they are increasing their participation and their interest in all the activities we're doing here. Today was a special day because it was HÉCTOR'S BIRTHDAY!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HÉCTOR!! But rather than reading it here in this blog, it is better if you hear your own partners singing for you twice in the morning.

After breakfast, we didn't do exercise, what a pity!!! (I needed it). Instead, they sang a couple of songs thanks to our great monitor "Aoife" (Irish name pronounced "Ifa"). I loved it, specially "Stand by me". That is one of my favourite songs ever.

Then, they went to their own classroom with their teacher and monitors. I think it's time to introduce them:

Allison with group 1,

Mike and Sylvia with group 2,

Lali and Mary with group 3 and Aoife and Michael with group 4.

All of them coordinated by Santi. Almost all of them are natives (at least that is what our teens believe). We can see them working with our children.

They always have free time from 15:00 to 16:30, and today they had their mobiles to phone their parents....and also time enough to play:

They were preparing a kind of show about Future and Past, about Technology, about Global Village. Is it technology necessary in our lives...the answer for the teens was YES!! But what do you think?

I have to say, that the monitors and the teachers are doing a great great job with the kids, so Congratulations to them. It was a fantastic and impressive show that they did today!!!

After the show, we were working on our school project for next Friday, but we decided to change it because it may be too long....so we're doing a drama play about Energy!!! and a well-known song called "We're the world"....

More than words, these images at the end of the night game will show you how good they are and how exciting it is all this activity. They play to the "King of Thieves" and we're lucky because we have a picture of the king.

They were policemen and thieves and they had to carry messages to different persons in the playground, at night and with torches.....Anyway, there were some "cheaters" (tramposos)....right Enrique???

Tomorrow will be another exciting day, we know that most of you will not be working, but we're still here, doing a hard and great job..... don't you think?

Mohernando day 2

Hi folks,

This is a picture of the place (Complejo "El Encinar"), what do you think?

Today we started with 3 persons punished from yesterday night. They were speaking too much. 2 girls from Córdoba and our dear "little" boy: Dani.

So they read the rules in the dining-room before breakfast.

After that, we started doing some exercise in the morning. We think we're going to get fit so that when we're back in Panxón we will do the same (just kiddin').

When we finished the exercise, they went into their own groups. Today's subject was Cultural and Natural Environment and Globalisation. We can check some work of the students...

As they were preparing something during the whole morning, in the afternoon, after lunch, they read it and expose it in front of everybody.

Then, they had a snack, just before "working" in the school project: "Oh, my God" "Oh, my God"....I have to say that they are so great and they are so full of energy....They do some things really fantastic and wonderful but suddenly they do childish and non-sense things....but I understand them (Everybody was like them once, remember?)

After having a worth shower and a nice dinner (soup and sausages with chips), they played a scary game called "Animalia".

They had to find 5 animals in the middle of the night, in the middle of the forest and with Full Moon....So.....Thrilling....So.....Scary....right?

Today was an exhausting day, but tomorrow there will be more, more and even more activities. We are convinced they won't be totally tired tomorrow....just wait for Saturday....

Mohernando day 1

Hi folks,

This is an unusually post, because it isn't a Primary post, but it is an English one. They are 2º ESO, because they were selected to do the 1st Linguistic Inmersion in Secondary. We are lucky because it is the first time ever that the same school is going to do Primary and Secondary during the same term.

We have to thank all the families for their support and patience, and we have to apologize Cristian because he couldn't be with us.

Anyway, we went to school at 9:30, we organised them and got all the information required to get into the bus. Once we got all the ID cards and Health Card, we departed at 10:15. We've been on the road for almost 10 hours!!!!!

Our 1st stop was in A Gudiña, they had some snack and they could go to the toilet. Our 2nd stop was in Benavente to have lunch (most of them had it outside because they had brought some food but some of them had it in the restaurant). Our 3rd stop was next to Arévalo to go to the toilet and take some rest before we get Mohernando where we finally arrived at 19:10.

Once we arrived to Mohernando, they went to their bedrooms (1 big bedroom for boys and 1 big bedroom for girls). All Panxón and Lucena together!!!! This is going to be reaaaaallly exciting!!!

Then, they went to know the teachers and monitors. They explained the rules, and we felt a bit ashamed because our students are a bit talkative.....just a bit!!!

After that, they went to do an English test to split them by levels and at the end of it they had some dinner (cold meat and croquetas with salad).

After dinner, they were all joined in a big classroom to play Introductory Games, to get to know each other (mainly those from Lucena). It was fun!!!

Once they met, they were split into 4 groups with these composition (apart from the people from Córdoba):

Group 1: Patricia, Emma and Mónica

Group 2: Sara, Nerea, Brais, Vicky, Héctor, Samuel, Brenda

Group 3: Duarte, Rubén, Alex, María, Tania, Enrique, Alexa

Group 4: Giovanni, Dani, Yaiza, Xeila, Leila, Carlos and Desiré

Tomorrow they will start the lessons....But tomorrow will be another day in "paradise".....

Manchester 2011 day 4.

Hi folks,

I'm sorry I couldn't publish anything these last 2 days. On Thursday night I was preparing the presentation video of the week, that you will watch in Panxón (too much to upload it here). On Friday night we were invited by Mr. Hennessey to have dinner out of Manchester, in Preastbury, in a very nice "posh" pub, and I didn't fell well.

So, on Wedenesday evening, our children went to taste the traditional food "Fish and Chips" to the Forster's restaurant in Didsbury, and most of them enjoyed it, including those who don't normally eat fish in our school. As I haven't been there I don't have pictures of that, but I'm sure Marián will have.

Let's go on talking about Thursday. On Thursday, they did the Spanish Café. They turned their Stage-Dining-Assembly-Extraescolar Room into a Café, so there were Spanish waiters, Spanish cooks and English customers. They all have to talk in Spanish (Que desea?). There is a

Menú done in Spanish and customers had to order something like chorizo, salchicón, jamón, limonada, café con leche.......

I have to go now, but I will publish tonight some more

Manchester 2011 day 3.

Hi folks,

Our day 3 started with good news, because the weather has changed and now it's sunny with some clouds. Apart from that, we get the school at 8:45 am, and they were in their classes 5R (from their theacher Mrs. Robinson) and 5D (from their teacher Mrs. Doherty).

Soon after arriving, they were split into 6 different groups, also with our Spanish children

divided among years 4, 5 and 6 (so in every group there were 25 children):

Group 1. Isaura, Noelia, Marián and Mencía. They played cricket and rounders.

Group 2. Tobías. He made some masks and played rounders.

Group 3. Sergio. He played cricket and sewed.

Group 4. Hugo, Alberto and Brais Fdez. They played origami games and painted Lowry.

Group 5. Brais Figueroa and Carlos. They sewed and played origami games.

Group 6. Iria and Noe. They painted Lowry and made some masks.

Once they finished with the groups, from 9:20 to 10:30 and from 10:45 to 12:15, they had a hot chocolate to warm their bodies. They also had lunch at the school, some spaghetti, but they didn't eat very well (of course, it wasn't really a healthy diet).

The best experience of the day for them, as far as I can think was the "Singing Square". Finally, after so much practice they sang. The only problem is that they were not hidden, they were just in the MIDDLE OF THE SQUARE, so Shame starts to count. Anyway, they did their songs very very good. If you don't believe me, you have here a sample of that:

Congratulations to all, they did a very very good job. Magnificent!!!

After school, they went to their houses, some of them were together playing, like in Phoebe's house. But everybody was at Forster's Fish and Chips (Didsbury) to try this traditional real English food. We don't have pictures of this moment because we were not there. We were invited by the teachers to have dinner in Angela's lovely house.

I hope they had a splendid day, we'll ask it tomorrow.

Manchester 2011 day 2 2nd part.

Hi folks,

I'm sorry that yesterday we couldn't post some pictures of the match Manchester City-Stoke, it was due to 2 things: I didn't have the cable and I didn't have an adaptor.

Anyway, I got it today, so we're going to show you, not only the pictures of the match, but also a short video when the match ended.

First thing, what I have to say was the anecdote of the day: we are really THANKFUL to Mr. Chidgey, because he invited to us all to watch the match. But not only that, he managed to put on the screen of the stadium: his son's birthday, a WELCOME to CPI Panxón and I don't know how but our children were on the screen at the end of the game.

The funny thing (not so funny for some) was that Sergio needed urgently to go to the toilet, and he asked Mark if he could. Mark said to him that he had to wait 2 minutes, but he couldn't and he went to the toilet (taking behind him Tobías, Hugo and Brais Fdez). So, they lost our Welcome on the screen and Declan's birthday!!! Poor boys!!! Cheer you up, Sergio!! This is always to learn something!!!

City won 3-0, with 2 goals of Tévez and 1 goal of Lescott. Silva was substituted in the 2nd half (15'). Anyway, definitely, our children are City's supporters (sorry for Angela and Denis).

This was really a great and fantastic experience!!! If you're not sure, just take a look at this video and tell me if you think it was one of the best days of their lives!!!

Manchester 2011 day 2.

Hi folks,

I'm very tired today, but I will try to publish the 1st part of the day. Well, it's not the only reason, the second reason is that we didn't take a lot of pictures with the official camera, and we do not have the cables to download them in the computer from our mobile. Trust me, they're really fantastic.

Firstly, we arrived at school at 9:00, in the morning and they took us some special

photographs for the School Calendar, or any Official image. I do not know because last year we did the same, but we do not have the pictures.

Today, we have just done 2 visits, but quite long visits. First we went to the Manchester City stadium. It is sooooooo wonderful, really, it is really beautiful. Up to 48000 people, totally blue, with the colours of our team, Celta de Vigo. the stadium is so well-cared that even if you're not a football fan or supporter, it is a good idea to come here, like Hugo!!!

There, we went to the different parts of the stadium, the VIP cabins, the changing rooms, the media room, the authorities seats....everywhere and our monitor Dianne was very very kind.

As an anecdote, Brais Fdez broke his Man City mug (they went to the shop to buy some things, as keyrings, scarf, bags, etc...) and she gave him another one back. He was so happy.

After that we went to the Velodrome, and we were lucky because the Olimpic National UK team was training there. The visit was not really splendid, probably it would be better a practical thing like showing a competitive bike or something, but we learnt something about the Siberian pined track, and its 3 main lines (black that means 250 metres and distance record; red, used for sprint and blue that means that you're out of the way and the competition.

We get to the school at 16:00, at off we go to the houses, in my case, I was with Isaura and Chisco until the Man City match (19:45). That was a FANTASTIC match, but I will show you the pictures next time. No words for this fantastic and great experience. I just have to say that we were twice on TV.

Manchester 2011 day 1 2nd part

Hi folks,

I just came to say that after lunch, we celebrated Hugo's birthday with a Chocolate cake for him. Everybody liked it, and ate with fun!!! Hugo told me that it is an unforgettable day for him, but he won't cry, even if I try with all my best.

Anyway, after this little party, they were playing at the playground, some played football (like Carlos) and another one just talked with English children. When they came back to the

classroom, they visited all the different classrooms of the school, at least year 5R, meanwhi

le 5D were having a lesson about Healthy Food, with Manchester City workers (before leaving the school, they were allowed to play football, as well, and for my surprise.......

I couldn't believe it!!! Marián and Alberto were trying to play football!!!!!).

While 5D were playing football, 5R were learning a lot of things in a computer, very very similar to Abalar computer, but with not so many advertisement....and share by all the school, not only by year 5.

When they finished school, at 15:00, our children didn't rest, they prepared some activities for English children of 4 and 5 years old, in a kind of Spanish club, with organised activities. Let's check how our girls managed to do that:

What do you think? Not bad, right? After this activity, they enjoyed a drink and a small sandwich. Good for them!!! But the day is not already finished, the best thing is to come........Yes!!! The BOWLING!!!!

Finally, at the end of the day, Chisco and Pablo were quite hungry because they didn't eat anything at the bowling (just 2 chicken nuggets), and we went to have dinner with our families, as well as the children did!!!!

I have to say that Everybody is spending a fantastic time here, at least our 1st day, I am only a bit worried about Isaura, but tonight she's going to be with Noe, Ella and Phoebe, so she will be all right!!!

Manchester 2011 day 1

Hi folks,

Here we are again in Didsbury, Manchester. Of course, delighted to be back in so charming school like RC St. Catherine's Primary School. But we have to say a couple of things before our Welcoming Reception.

First, yesterday at the airport baggage control, Sergio exploded his suitcase...that was quite funny, but at the same time stressing.

Second, Me, Hugo's father and Tobías had to pass 2 times over the UK frontier, just because we went to look for Nino (Tobi's father). So, we showed 2 times our passport.

The flight was very good, but the landing, was a bit exciting. There were 5 persons and Chisco who were flying for 1st time: Brais Fig., Brais Fer., Iria, Noelia and Noe. So here is a picture of the flight.

I'm sorry we don't have pictures of the arrival, because it was raining and we had a lot of things to plan and to talk. Anyway, they went straight to their houses.

English families were waiting for us at the school, where we get at 1:30 in the morning.

At 10:30, in the morning they prepared a reception meeting for us, including a Happy Birthday song for Hugo. Today was Hugo's 11 birthday!!!!! Tanti auguri!!!

After the reception, they were split into 2 groups, 5R and 5D, some of them were playing some games, some of them were preparing a presentation in English of themselves. Take a look to both of them:

After that, they prepared a song with some dancing in it, and they were ready for lunch. At 12:15 they went to have lunch at the Dining-room of the school (that it's also the gym, the club, the assembly meeting place....). Here they are enjoying and having lunch:

I recognise that this year, our year 6 was overloaded with our Linguistic Inmersion, but now it is time for them. They also work very very good and they are fantastic students (mainly the girls, they are really responsible, that is the truth). I would like to say the opposite, but it is in the boys hands, They didn't do the Flora and Fauna work of Cíes Islands (but Pedro and Cristian).

Let's start with our Nespresso favourite friends....

Working with the likes and dislikes, remember that we always use an -ing form after like or don't like.

Example: I like playing the drums

I don't like studying

We also use the -ing form after "To be good at"

Hi folks,

Ups, the present continuous, maybe you will forget it when you are in 1st of ESO, like some people this year. They said to Andrea that they never never study that. Here is another proof that you were practising, talking, studying and memorising expressions in Present Continuous.

I remember you that we use Present Continuous, as in Spanish, to talk about things that are happening now, in this moment (falamos de cousas que suceden neste momento). For example:

You are reading this sentence. Ti estás lendo esta frase.

As you can see, we use the verb to be: ARE + the verb READ + ING, o que é o mesmo, como podedes ver utilizamos o verbo ser: ESTÁS + o verbo LER + NDO (marca de xerundio)

Here we are again after a long and exhausting week and after a totally relaxing week. I have a lot of things to publish, of course, mainly years 5 and 6. We start with year 5 shopping.

Every second term, in year 5 we work with different shops, how to manage one person in a shop...There is a fantastic question: HOW MUCH IS THIS/THAT? (Cánto costa isto/iso?)

There were different shops, but we definitely chose this one to post because it is quite clear what they have in it.

Yesterday, I published our recent videos of year 3. Now it's year 4's turn to enjoy their time watching how well they did their work.

We were learning a lot of things, mainly difficult ones as: HIS and HER.

Remember: HIS HAIR = Su pelo (el de un chico)

HER HAIR= Su pelo (el de una chica)

Here's one funny example, done by Nahuel and Adrián:

In our next video we started to work the Present Continuous!!! OOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhh Nooooooooooo!!! Grammar time!!!!! Be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here we are again, at the end of Carnival and preparing our next visit from Manchester. Meanwhile, I post some videos that we have worked during these two months of January and February. I hope you can enjoy them all.

Year 3 has worked very very well, we are in unit 4 now, with some special vocabulary that we have in a bedroom, as CARPET (alfombra), LAMP, BED, BOX, CUPBOARD (alacena, estantería, armario de objetos), BEDSIDE TABLE (mesita de noche), WARDROBE (armario de ropa).....

We can watch some examples of their work in these little videos:

Once again, as you can see I am publishing now quite a lot of things. I have some more time, but not as much as I would like. Anyway, it's been 2 years since we recorded this scene, but I think it's worth to remember it. Dedicated to all year 6, do you remember this advertisement?

Remember that they worked a lot about the Linguistic Inmersion, but to check we can publish a video presentation, like Elidia's one.....Sorry, but I can't talk, no words on it......she was just MARVELLOUS!!! Tonight is another one where we think about you and we had to publish your work. You did a very good job!!!. Well done!!! Congratulations!!!. These are the examples of Year 3 units.

Firstly, we have their presentation, they introduce themselves saying their names and their age:

Then, we can see, as the previous year, a story about toys, I mean "Toy story". They play the role of an spaceman and a dinosaur with binoculars (prismáticos):

Twin (gemela) Sofía: Is it a cowboy?

Nico: Yes! Uuuups, it isn't small! IT'S BIG!!! HELP!!!

Now, we can see them singing. YES, singing a nice song called "My toys". I'm sure most of our former (antiguos) students will remember this song (beginning to be Panxón-wide famous):

Journey to Lille for Comenius

Hi folks,

I know it's been long time since I don't write, but here we are again, ready to re-start this term

with my journey to Lille.

Lille is in the North of France, next to Belgium (you can click on the name of the city to watch it). But to be more precise, our partner school is in a

small village called "La Motte au Bois" .

Our school is named "Leon Gambetta" and its Head-teacher is Eric Degrave.

Here you can see some of the pictures of the journey and some of 3rd cycle students singing the France National theme. It's got 4 classrooms with 110 students as a whole. It's got computer room, gym and dining-room and a big football pitch to play outside.

After that, on Monday, Angela and Peter came from Manchester to meet us over there and to know the place and coordinate our actions. Here they are:

Linguistic Inmersion 7

Hi folks

Last day. Friday, 5th november.

They got up as usual, at 8:30. After breakfast they saw a documentary film about pollution and robots. Then, they enjoyed a nice and beautiful walk to Guijo de Ávila.

There, they visited a renewable energies room. They experienced with solar energy and a few toys moved by the power of the light (artificial or sun).

After the walk, they had lunch a French omelette with salad

. Soon after the free time, they went to the final lesson with their respective teachers (as you know). They did a comic about pollution and keeping safe the environment.

Later, they had our final session, where we prepared a dedication wallpaper for the teachers and monitors and another for the school from Madrid. We paid a visit to them playing a kind of Trivia game. Finally we played "Shoot".

At 19:30, they had to do the final test, to check how much they have learnt during the week. I have all the evaluations that are going to be used as my own evaluation of the project.

At the end of the day, at the end of the week and at the end of the Linguistic Inmersion they had a Disco Night, a Diploma's giving and a Video of the week. Yes, I prepared a video for all of them.

Linguistic Inmersion 6

Hi folks,

Once again, Thursday 4th november. As usual, they got up at 8:30 in the morning, they had breakfast and they went to the lessons. Today's topic was: FAUNA. They prepared different wallpapers about several animals. We can see an example of their work.

Probably you still don't know exactly how the groups were split, so I decided to show you the different classrooms with their respective teacher (Javi, Eric, Carlos and Sue).

Of course, as I said in our Manchester exchange: "Give me a ball and I can produce Integration", I mean Football again, but this time were mixed teams (what was really great).

After lunch, a soft lesson with a little game about Animals Vocabulary. Then, they played Orientation (they had to use a compass (brújula) to guess where they were and to know where they have to go). I'm sorry that we don't have pictures of this game.

Finally, we prepared our session for today's night festival: X-factor. I will show you part of the things that we did.

Hi folks,

Wednesday 3rd November. Today's topic was about Flora!!! They watched a film: "Bee movie". They went to the lessons and learnt a lot about flora. For example, they learnt a plant shape and its names in English. They made a kind of Herbolarium, with Explanations in English of the different plants they found in the camping.

Later on, they also played different games about Flora Vocabulary in each classroom, according to their level.

There was an interesting football match after lunch: Madrid against Galicia and Galicia won 5-2, Hurray!!!

Then, before the snack, they went climbing (escalada) and they did archery (tiro con arco). When they finished the snack, we were together to prepare X-factor for tomorrow night. We decided the order of things:

1. Theatre play about Water Cycle.

2. Michael Jackson's song: "Heal the world"

3. Water

4. Earth

5. Flora

6. Fauna

7. Pollution

8. 3 songs.

At night, after dinner they played a Detective Game called "Berengorio". They have to search for clues to discover what happened to a Monk, so they walked around all the campsite to look for the clues. Of course, there was no winner.....

I thank the families for all the patience and understanding about communicating with them, I know it's not so easy, but trust me: that is the worst moment for them.

Linguistic Inmersion 4

Hi folks,

Tuesday 2nd November. We had a great great day!!! They re-divided again the groups, so now there are 3 groups of 8 Madrid children plus 4 Galician ones, and one more group of 11 Galician people. We can see one of the groups.

They had lessons all morning, today about Earth. They worked the continents and they designed a landscape (un paisaje).

After lessons we had Canoeing and Sailing while CEIP San Andrés went to climbing and Archery (Escalada e tiro con arco).

Finally, after our lesson (with Esperanza and me, where we prepared the Oral Exposition); phone calls and dinner,

they played 4 different games as Furor (I post a small video about it).

Finally, I would like to give just one advice for parents: Please, do not phone so many times....Sometimes there is not signal (cobertura), sometimes the children are busy (ocupados) with any kind of activity, sometimes it's just that they have to be in the cabins or just playing. They are well, if something happens we would call you inmediately!!!

Anyway, I understand it and I try my best to communicate with them almost everyday.

I am happy because they are enjoying a lot, and learning not only English but also to integrate and be integrated in this 2-way project!!

Linguistic Inmersion 3

Hi folks,

At first hour today, they were into the classrooms until lunch time (with a little time for a snack at 11:45). Today the topic was about WATER, they worked the Water Cycle. Then we had lunch, lentils and fish. After that, they went to the classroom again to make some experiments with water.

Late in the afternoon, we went out for a little walk and we played some games.

After that, they had a little snack (a chorizo sandwich) and a drink, before coming to our own session (with the teachers). We are going to prepare a little theatre play about Water Cycle, a Michael Jackson song "Heal the World", a theatre play about animals and some experiments about Volcanos, Water and Earthquakes.

At night, after dinner, they enjoyed their favourite activity: a Ginkana (I'm not sure if it's well written). I'm sorry we don't have any pictures at all about it, but they enjoyed it a lot, sure.

Linguistic Inmersion 2

Hi folks,

We can see them doing the Initial Evaluation Test. After that, they played some Introduction Games to get to know People from Madrid (CEIP San Andrés, from Colmenar Viejo, Madrid). At 23:30, more or less, they went to their bungalows, where we can see a group of them. Today they were split into groups:

Hi folks,

Here we are again writing from Guijo de Ávila, next to Sierra de Gredos. We departed yesterday, Sunday 31st October at 12:15 and we arrived here at 19:15. We stopped twice: first stop at A Gudiña where the children had lunch and the second was at Zamora in a little park (we didn't have time to go to the Parador, what a shame!!)

The kite crashed

Hi folks,

Last video from previous year 6. This time, they continued to work the past tense with some special verb as:

Fly ------- Flew (volar ------ voló)

Ben: Yes, it flew up, and then crashed. Who invented kites?

Patri: I don't know, but it wasn't the Wright Brothers. They invented aeroplanes.

Brenda: Oh, no! That's my mum!! Who invented mobile phones?

So, that's all for previous year 6. Now we can start publishing things from the actual term. Our next post will be all the Lingüistic Inmersion week in Guijo de Ávila with year 6.

Of course, we have several videos to post, and also some pictures, but they have to wait.

I want to thank to the parents contribution in everything. I want to thank also to year 5 good work with their presentations and year 6 good work with their Expositions about Water, Earth and Human resources.

Hi folks,

There are 2 more videos from last year 6, they are using now the past simple tense. Yar is talking to the young lemurs telling about a past time, about how was life in the valley. They use verbs such as:

PAST SIMPLE: Ends in -ED.

Example: Crash --- Crashed (chocar - chocó)

Live ---- Lived (vivir --- vivía, vivíamos.....)

Happen -- Happened (ocurrir -- ocurrió)

Here's the video as example: One thing about it: MY CONGRATULATIONS TO PABLO LARRONDO AND HIS EFFORT AND GOOD WORK TO DO THIS VIDEO. HE'S AN EXAMPLE OF INTEGRATION AND GOOD WORK!!!

Yar: The lake is beautiful and life in the valley is good.

Brenda: Was life good when you were little, Yar?

Yar: Yes, it was, but I lived on an island.

Duarte: What's happened?

Yar: One day, there were lights in the sky. A huge fireball crashed into the sea. It destroyed everything on our island.

Patri: But the young lemurs aren't listening.

Brenda: Watch out!! Baylene is going to jump in the lake.

Patri: The huge dinosaur jumps into the water.

Baylene sees the young lemurs.

PABLO: Sorry, Yar!!!!

Yar: Yes, life in this valley is good but I'm not going to stand next to the lake ever again.

This video is an example for me of a person who tried to do his best, and it is also an example of the persons who helped him to be part of the group!! Thanks to all of you Pablo was really happy doing this!! I really felt overwhelmed by your work.

Pacha and Kuzco

Hi folks,

Tonight's the night, here you are our previous year 6 in another scene, this time about Pacha and Kuzco going to a restaurant. I hope you can enjoy it as much as I do everytime I watch it!!

Samuel: Pacha and Kuzco are very hungry. They see a restaurant.

Emma: Oh no!! Look at the sign!! Llamas can't eat here!!

Alex: It's ok. I've got an idea.

Samuel: They walk into the restaurant. 10 minutes later.

Alex: This is my wife. First bring the special meal of the day, please.

Emma: Next, give me some soup. Then a salad and a pie and

everything on the menu.

Samuel: The waitress brings the first dish out and put it on the table.

Emma: AAhh!!! It's a bug!! We don't eat bugs at the palace.

Alex: It's delicious!! Open it like this.

Samuel: Kuzco calls the waitress to the table.

Emma: Excuse me, waitress, give me a piece of toast, please.

Do you remember it now? It was very funny, and all of the groups did it very very well. I checked them all now and it was unbelievable how your fluency was then. My congrats (congratulations) to all your group!!!

Trust me, YOU ARE ONE OF THE BEST CLASS-GROUPS EVER!!! (It will be difficult to live something similar again). Take care and see you in the next post (there are some more videos for this week).

Finally, year 6 at last!!!

I know, sorry for being sooooooo late, but you know I'm full of stuff (work). I hope you understand this.

But your waiting was worthy, because here you have different videos of your last year work in year 6. I understand that Secondary is totally different, but enjoy with what you have done:

As I promised, it's time now for year 6 videos, but first I have to say that few people are visiting the blog, so that makes me a bit lazier than before, anyway we'll keep in touch everyday!!!. Another thing is that I've been very very but very very but very very BUSY (ocupado), so it was difficult to find a moment to publish this post.

TV: Chimpanzees are from Africa. They live in forests and sleep in trees. They eat flowers, leaves and fruit. Their favourite food is banana.

Well, I hope all of you enjoyed with these videos. I know we have got a lot of pictures to see and to learn. We have to upload a lot this blog, mainly with different things that are going to happen soon, like "Linguistic Inmersion 2010. Guijo de Ávila" i will keep you informed about what we do everyday, at least with 2 or 3 pictures.

Remember, that you have to practice your English everyday, at least for half an hour, otherwise you could forget it!!!

English for CPI Panxon adults has started!!! 12 brave parents are coming every Wednesday from 16:30 to 18:00!! Good luck to them!!

It's been long time since I don't write here, I have a debt with all of you!!! (Specially those ones of 1st OSE (Obligatory Secondary Education).

I have a lot of things to publish, so my apollogies (mis disculpas).

At first, I have to post all Year 4 (now Year 5) videos from last year, so here you can find one of them:
